Canada Day

For Canada Day, we had planned to go to Pasquia Park for swimming, mini golf and a weiner roast but the weather was just not appropriate to do so. It rained/poured most of the morning. Bryan & the boys went to the museum. The sun came out in the afternoon but there were still some unfriendly clouds and it was a bit chilly. Since we had already planned a weiner roast we decided to just go to the Regional Park instead, later in the afternoon.

Dan & Brittany and baby Isabella joined us as well. We had a great time. We had a weiner roast/picnic then played Bocce Ball. What a fun game. We need to get ourselves that game.

While we were playing Bocce Ball, a squirrel jumped right up on the seat of the picnic table & found a chip then I threw a piece of hotdog bun & he climbed up a tree to eat it. He was quite tame because we could walk right up to the it.

So relaxing!!
The kids spent so much time on this slide & swings. I would not be exaggerating if I said that they climed those stairs 40x each. They entertained themselves the whole evening. Our picnic site was right close to these old swings/slide.

Now last night we went to the park again - one time up & Simon fell down the inside of the slide(stairs). If you look on the bottom of the picture you can see the opening where they go in & the stairs are inside. (I am sure most of us remember this type of slide from when we were children) Well Simon fell down & fit his head and broke the inside of his lip open as well as got a few scrapes including one on his chin & another on his lower back and the back of his head. His legs were dark after his accident which I think was from shock. After awhile, he went back to playing, just not on that slide.

Happy Canada Day! Looks like you still got to enjoy some outside time - nice!
So glad Simon didn't do too much damage with his fall!
