Pioneer Day

Micah and Anson have been learing about Heritage in social studies at school. They went on a field trip to the museum. They were supposed to dress like pioneers.

Micah and Anson, as pioneers
(after I told them that they didn't smile for pictures in the olden days)

Calleigh girl is now 25 months old. She is our little 2 year old and is always learning new things. For the last 6 days she has been wearing panties & is doing well with them. She has had a few accidents but they are few & far between(except last night when she had 3 accidents in 1 hour). Today is a new day though.

We went mini golfing at the regional park and Calleigh had just as much fun as those golfing.
Calleigh loves the park

Calleigh really likes to watch Mr. Bean and she copies things that he says & does. One thing she says is "No, no, no, I'm driving" and she motions with her hands like she is driving. The other saying is "no, these are mine". It sound selfish and rude but is cute when she says it. She wants you to hold your hand out & she slaps(lightly) the top & says "no, these are mine" This is from when Mr. Bean is out at a theatre eating popcorn & his girlfriend reaches her hand into the popcorn.
The other morning, I had just taken the sheets off the boys beds & Calleigh climbed up on the top bunk & fell asleep.
Calleigh talks really well for her age(many people comment on this). Simon stae this age was just starting to say a few words.
Some made up words of Calleigh's are :
Cherry berries - strawberries
Tiny apple - pineapple
Little melon - watermelon

Time with Family

The Stephenson Clan were all at the farm on Saturday to celebrate Father's Day &
Crystal's 27th birthday. It was so nice to see everyone there.

Crystal and their precious baby girl, Scarlett- 2 months (she is SO sweet)

Micah, Grandma & Jude(Tressa & Lucas' baby-7 months)

Micah, Darren, Meghan & Lucas

We were planning to have a bonfire but as we drove from Regina, the sky was getting darker & darker and we could see rain ahead. It did rain at Lang but we were still able to have a fire
(they had covered the pit) Lucas is ready in case any more rain comes.

We had planned to go on the trampoline in the morning & go out & see the chickens but it was raining so the boys played inside with Auntie Roberta.
(Uncle Larry recently had surgery on his ankle)

We enjoyed a nice breakfast with them. then headed home in the rain.
(we didn't take the low road home-LOL )

Out on the deck/veranda.

The kids were doing a rain dance while Bryan packed up.

The camera doesn't show the rain very well.

Happy Anniversary

The main reason for going to Regina was to help Grandma & Grandpa West celebrate their 55th anniversary. We went out to the Chimney Restaurant.

I didn't get many good pictures. It was hard for the kids there. We had a long wait. We are used to McDonald's & that is the extent of our eating out. The kids did well considering.

We spent the day in Regina. We did a bit of shopping then stopped in for a visit with
Grandma Klatt.

Micah lost his first tooth while we were in Regina that day.

Grandma's

We went down to Lang/Regina this past weekend. We spent a night with Grandma Heiberg. The kids loved the trains(we don't have many here) and loved Grandma's form of transportation.

Going for a walk/ride. It was a beautiful evening, so quiet, no wind. We walked around the whole town & only saw one vehicle. It was a nice peaceful walk.

Grandma & Calleigh in front of her house. I have so many great memories of Grandma's house and am glad that our children get that opportunity too.

Micah had to try to bike out as wellIt is hard to steer & Micah rode right down into the ditch.

Walking to go see a train.

I added this one because they are all heading to the end of the street to see another train.

Soccer

Micah has finished another season of outdoor soccer. He would be happy to play all summer. He just loves sports and really excels at it.

These were taken in our yard after his last night of soccer.

Summer

We had a long spring but it has finally got warmer and I think summer is here. On the first few days of warmth we really enjoyed it. We ran through the sprinkler and had a picnic in the backyard.

And the best thing about summer - ice cream!!

Sunday Afternoon

Sunday is a day a rest and we try to do that on Sundays. The boys had requested to both have a nap in Simon's bed. I didn't think it would work but said
"okay, you better go to sleep in the next 10 minutes or you have to sleep in your own beds"
Then I left for work & Bryan found them like this.

Sleeping Beauty

I was folding clothes and Calleigh climbed up in her high chair for a snack. I went down the hall for a moment and when I came back, Calleigh was sound asleep.

I am posting this for my relatives.
This was taken on the road to Lower Fishing Lake.
It is named after my great uncle, Kenneth Heiberg who drown in the navy.

Activity Day

Micah had his sports/activity day at school on Friday. It was your normal activity day for the fact that it was so cold. People had miits & winter jackets on - on June 5th!!!!!

Micah is in the middle with the hat on.
After they had a few races, all boys, all girls, grade ones then grade twos, then they had a brother/sister race where the siblings got to race with them. You can't really see Simon in this picture but he right behind Micah.

Simon got to join the Tug -o-war

Then parents against the kids. Those kids were strong!! (they won)

Micah gettting a basket

They had an obstacle course. They had to run on one apparatus & then the other.

He sure can run!!

The sack race

Skipping is not his thing at all but he tried. I think it is more a girls thing.
I used to love to skip & we used to do that at every recess. Remember that?
There was also a fire safety presentation where the kids crawled through a maze, soccer shoot, ball throw, water relay, bean bag toss, face painting, water balloons and a free snack table.
We all stayed at the school for a hot dog lunch. In the afternoon, I went home with Calleigh to get ready to go away to retreat. Bryan & Simon joined Micah in a walk with the Mayor.
A Busy day!!!
