December/Christmas Update

Since I am so far behind with blogging I have just chosen a few of my favorite shots from Christmas & the end of 2011. Our Christmas(es) started on the 24th & we had something on every night until the 31st.

This is Simon, just as he is. I love this picture of him. He was so thrilled to receive an MP3 player for Christmas filled with his favorite music.

Calleigh on Christmas morning. All 3 girls received these matching pjamas.

Micah, quiet & calm as usual, opening a Collingsworth family piano book on Christmas Day.

I love these 2 sweet peas. If you recall we took photos of them at the piano last year. This year it was a little more difficult to get them to sit there & look at the same time. They do not ever stay still for long.

(you can see the top on the snowman from our front lawn)

We all had so much fun that day sledding right in Mom & Dad's yard.

The twins loved it. It was their first time to really be out playing in the snow & they had a hoot.

One Last Visit to Grandma's House

Grandma & Grandpa moved off the farm in 1982 into this house. Now Grandma feels that it is time to move to a senior's housing unit. We are happy for her. Happy that she was able to sell her house so quickly. Although, an emotional time.

When Grandma decided to put her house for sale, she called me and said that she wanted me to have her dining room set. We made a quick trip down to Lang to pick it up. It was a nice weekend. We were able to visit since we had none of the kids along.

After a good cry. I told Grandma that it was all good tears of all the good memories.
I don't have any regrets. I am so glad that I was able to spend so much time at Grandma & Grandpa's while growing up. Grandma is so much more than a Grandma. She is a true friend.

Anytime we were we were leaving Grandma's,

she would always stand on her front porch and wave.

It was hard to wave to her one last time on that porch.

The cabinet in its new home. It is an honour to have this piece of furniture in our home. Most of the items in the cabinet are all from Grandma. Some of them were her Mom's in England.

The End of a School Year

The last day of school was a hot day. We walked to pick up the boys & when we got home to kids sat outside & enjoyed a fudgesicle.

I wanted to do something special for the boys last day of school so we headed out to the regional park for a weiner roast and some great family time.

The boys on the newly painted teeter totter & slide behind.
(they say improvements to the park this year, maybe this is it)

Simon having a little chat with the girls

A little revealing, Lauryn(she crawled up here to sneak a few chips)

What is it about water that is so fascinating??

We ended with a round of golf

I thought the tiwns would want the golf balls but nope, they just wanted to crawl onto each green & play there. They actually did well. We were able to play the game while they toddled along behind.

Calleigh is saying, "hey, look at Leah"

A fun evening together, just the 7 of us.

A Visit With Uncle Derek

Derek came for a visit over the weekend. We had a turkey supper at our place with Derek & Dad(Mom was out of town) as well as the Schellenberg clan & us.

Calleigh clung to Uncle Derek like a leech. The good thing is that he didn't seem to mind it.

Here she is clung to cousin Jada.

Again with Jada(I posted these for you, Heidi)
Leah, Simon(hidden), Lauryn & Calleigh on Uncle Derek. They were all so excited.(can you tell by Leah's expression?)

A Little Update

The twins are so much fun and oh so busy. Their new favorite thing to do is climb up on the couch and play there. They were sitting here giving each other hugs. It is neat to watch them bond. We moved the coffee table to prevent injuries.
Last Sunday locked herself in our bathroom just as we were about to walk out the door to church. She closed the bathroom door then opened a drawer right behind the door. We were able to open the door 1/4 " & use a screwdriver to open the door. Phew! The next day, Calleigh & I got locked outside the back door with the twins inside. You can read that story on my other blog by clicking HERE.
We traded in the van and got ourselves a great family car - Challenger.

Just kidding. Our van was hit in the school parking lot by ???? so it was in the repair shop. They gave us a loaner vehicle, we now have a van as a loaner but the boys sure enjoyed being picked up from school in this car and I think Bryan enjoyed driving it. You can see the chalk on the driveway - that is Micah's hockey "rink". That boys has one thing on his mind and that is sports. He loves to be outside is looking forward to having the snow all melted.

Trying to make a pathway, we still have lots of snow but it has melted a lot this week.

The twins just wishing they could be outside too.

Pumpkin Patch

We were in Saskatoon for Thanksgiving weekend.
(The first time in our married lives to be away from homke at Thanksgiving)

It was a beautiful day. Shorts weather for some.
We visited the Pumpkin Maze at Dutch Growers.

The kids went through numerous times. They really enjoyed themselves.

I rarely ever have pictures of Micah so I took the opportunity to do a photo shoot of just him & got some good pictures.

Our attempt at a family picture. Lauryn was pulling Calleigh's hair.

80

Bryan's Grandma celebrated her 80th birthday on September 24th. We had a family celebration the next day, exactly one year from the day she went in for her heart surgery.
Micah & Simon were the "welcoming committee" at the door.

I made her a scrapbook, from all of the family.

We all enjoyed a wonderful chinese food meal.

The kids LOVE Uncle Cory.

We are so thankful for Grandma and we thank God for all that He has brought her through this past year.

Weekend Visitors

My brother, Derek & his girlfriend, Pam came for a visit a couple weekends ago. Heidi & Tim were away but the kids were with Mom & Dad so we all had supper together.
(Mom's lasagna - my favorite meal that she makes)

Derek & Pam brought gifts for the kids. One of the gifts were these Air Hogs styrofoam planes for the boys. They all had fun with them & still are.
