Simon's 7th Birthday

Simon loves Lego so that was his theme this year for his birthday party.

We played a few Lego games downstairs using 2 teams. One of them was to boild a tower in 2 minutes.

Calleigh was right in there building with the boys.

Micah missed out on a friend's birthday party so he could be at Simon's.

Simon is a very creative boy, loves to make crafts & build Lego. He is doing very well at piano. He enjoys sitting & playing through the whole book, working on lots of Christmas songs now.

Happy Birthday Simon. We love you!!

Micah's 10th Birthday

Ten years old? How did that happen? Where did those 10 years go? When Micah was born people told me to enjoy him as they grow so fast but I could never have imagined that it would be this fast. Micah is my quiet boy who is sorts minded all around & excels at sports.

(who would have thought after being in a body cast in his first year of life)

It was only fitting to have another football party for Micah. The boys went up to LP & played football. For some reason there is only photos of this referee & none of the players.LOL

Snack time

And not even a picture with the football cake that I made. I do not claim to be an expert cake maker/decorator so when I do make a cake & it turns out okay,
I should at least take a picture of it.

Happy Birthday Micah. We love you so much!

Happy Birthday Papa

Papa(Bryan's Dad) turned 60 on June 23rd so we had a surprise birthday party for him. When they arrived at the party(at the regional park), the kids were all so excited to see him. The day had been a bit rainy and all day we wondered if we would be able to have the party outside but at 5pm the sun came out & it was a beautiful evening.

A weiner roast at the park

The kids starting walking down the path & the twins were tagging along behind.
It was cute to watch.

Happy Birthday Papa!!

We tried getting a picture with Papa & our 5 kids but the twins were not too happy to sit up there. They were getting tired & the mosquitos were coming out so home we went for cake.

Melinda made a wonderful Black Forest Cake

Calleigh's 4th Birthday

Many months ago, Calleigh said that she wanted a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party.(at one point she wanted Mr Bean.LOL) So I made up some postcard type invitations inviting the kids to a "berry" special bday party:

We hosted her birthday on May 26th, her actual birthday. As it worked out, the boys were also home because of the teacher's strike. So far we have been able to have Calleigh's party outside every year. (I enjoy that)

Out on the deck

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
(someone else told me that they want to have a Strawberry Shortcake bday just so I will make him choc covered strawberries)

I also made ice cream cone cupcakes. I find they are less messy for children but often the kids just lick off the icing anyway.

And for icing - 1 tub of cool whip, 1 box of red jello. Voila, that is it. (some people had asked for the recipe, it is my favorite besides Coop icing.Mmmm)

We had Strawberry Shortcake music playing when the kids arrived and throughout the party. The kids enjoyed just playing in the backyard. We had coloring pages for the kids when they arrived followed by games.

Pin the Stem on the Strawberry.

Strawberry, Strawberry Shortcake

(Duck, Duck Goose)

(Miss C had a melt down after this)

I read the kids a story(Strawberry Shortcake, of course)
They also played 'pass the present' before Calleigh opened her gifts.

"Happy Birthday to you, Calleigh Ann"

We had snacks then I scattered strawberry candies for the kids to clean up(I told them that Strawberry Shortcake's puppy, Pupcake, left a big mess & I needed them to clean it up)

We planted strawberry plants in little pots for each of the children to take home with them.

(I missed taking pictures of a few things)

It was a fun filled day but I was really exhausted after it all.

Happy Birthday Micah

My baby is 9. Wow, how time flies.
Micah is a quiet, gentle boy who LOVES sports.
He is easy going. He had to be with that cast on as a baby.
He is easily entertained & often entertains himself.
The poor boy thinks he lives in the zoo. (his words tonight.lol)

Happy Birthday Micah Man!!

For Micah's party, the boys played football along with Dale & Bryan. It was SO cold out that day. We had hoped to rent a gym of some sort but there really aren't any available in Nipawin.

I made up a Scavenger hunt as well. The boys had a list to look for including rocks with letters on them which was to spell "Happy Birthday Micah" but the boys were too cold & just wanted to play football.
Here is what they found:
Do they look cold?

Simon's Party

Simon had a little party with a few friends on the 31st.
(it was much more calm than with a bunch of 7 & 8 year olds)

We started upstairs with watching "Cars" until everyone arrived then we played musical chairs using the DVD music. I totally forgot to take any pictures of the games upstairs. Duh!
Then they played "Pin the 95 on Lightning McQueen"
before heading downstairs for a couple of games.

They played "Lightning Lightning McQueen"(like Duck Duck Goose). This was surprisingly difficult for the kids. They didn't know where to run or what to do.
Then I divided them into teams & they each had a box of 'Cars' megablocks & it was a race to see which team could build it the fastest.
Then 'Hot Potato' with Lightning McQueen.
We also used Lightning for spin the bottle game for opening presents.

Beatrice, Marie, Simon, Ryder, Ritchy, Cameron and Micah
I am not a cake decorater. I do not enjoy decorating cakes at all but the cake tasted good.

Simon received lots of nice gifts, mostly craft supplies and lego.
Thank you!!
