Many months ago, Calleigh said that she wanted a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party.(at one point she wanted Mr Bean.LOL) So I made up some postcard type invitations inviting the kids to a "berry" special bday party: We hosted her birthday on May 26th, her actual birthday. As it worked out, the boys were also home because of the teacher's strike. So far we have been able to have Calleigh's party outside every year. (I enjoy that)
(someone else told me that they want to have a Strawberry Shortcake bday just so I will make him choc covered strawberries)
And for icing - 1 tub of cool whip, 1 box of red jello. Voila, that is it. (some people had asked for the recipe, it is my favorite besides Coop icing.Mmmm)
We had Strawberry Shortcake music playing when the kids arrived and throughout the party. The kids enjoyed just playing in the backyard. We had coloring pages for the kids when they arrived followed by games.
Pin the Stem on the Strawberry.
(Duck, Duck Goose)
I read the kids a story(Strawberry Shortcake, of course)
They also played 'pass the present' before Calleigh opened her gifts.
