Calleigh's 4th Birthday

Many months ago, Calleigh said that she wanted a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party.(at one point she wanted Mr Bean.LOL) So I made up some postcard type invitations inviting the kids to a "berry" special bday party:

We hosted her birthday on May 26th, her actual birthday. As it worked out, the boys were also home because of the teacher's strike. So far we have been able to have Calleigh's party outside every year. (I enjoy that)

Out on the deck

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
(someone else told me that they want to have a Strawberry Shortcake bday just so I will make him choc covered strawberries)

I also made ice cream cone cupcakes. I find they are less messy for children but often the kids just lick off the icing anyway.

And for icing - 1 tub of cool whip, 1 box of red jello. Voila, that is it. (some people had asked for the recipe, it is my favorite besides Coop icing.Mmmm)

We had Strawberry Shortcake music playing when the kids arrived and throughout the party. The kids enjoyed just playing in the backyard. We had coloring pages for the kids when they arrived followed by games.

Pin the Stem on the Strawberry.

Strawberry, Strawberry Shortcake

(Duck, Duck Goose)

(Miss C had a melt down after this)

I read the kids a story(Strawberry Shortcake, of course)
They also played 'pass the present' before Calleigh opened her gifts.

"Happy Birthday to you, Calleigh Ann"

We had snacks then I scattered strawberry candies for the kids to clean up(I told them that Strawberry Shortcake's puppy, Pupcake, left a big mess & I needed them to clean it up)

We planted strawberry plants in little pots for each of the children to take home with them.

(I missed taking pictures of a few things)

It was a fun filled day but I was really exhausted after it all.
