Our Year in Review-2010

Again I am behind. It is almost the middle of the month & here I am posting our year in review.

I tried to choose pictures that were not previously posted on the blog(some were on FB)

January

The highlight of our whole year was the birth of our twins, Lauryn & Leah. Here they are not even 1 day old, laying in the bassinet together.

February

This was my first "outing' after the twins were born. It was at Awana car races. Here is Calleigh with her friend, Marie, who has since moved to Ontario. Calleigh misses her!

I also enjoyed watching the boys soccer tournaments that month.

We had beautiful weather in April but I had already posted those pictures so here is Simon with his favorite team gear:

May

May was a busier month with our annual garage sale and outdoor soccer starting. We also had Calleigh's 3rd birthday & the twins dedications that month and just enjoyed the spring weather with gardening and just being outside.

Simon, our artist. He loves to make crafts. Here he made a picture of me laying on the hospital bed. He had a long explanation all about it.

June
This is one of my all time favorite photos. I just love it! Simon went to watch Micah swim & Calleigh just went & sat beside him. I didn't plan this picture.

July
My highlights for the month of July was our family day at Pasquia Park for Canada Day as well as going to visit my grandparents and my aunt & uncle(and cousins) in Ogema and Lang.
The boys had lots of fun playing outside together. Micah lives outside in the summer. Our neighbors across the street said that they enjoy watching him play one man football every day.

Micah & Simon made this neat swing. Somehow they put their feet on one swing & get going.

August

Bryan's younger brother & sister were both married in August. The boys also enjoyed a football game in Regina. We started the month with Bryan's NBI reunion. We enjoyed it. It was hot out. Here is Simon & his best friend, Cameron at the reunion:

September
I worked like crazy getting a scrapbook made for Bryan's Grandma, who celebrated her 80th birthday. I really enjoyed making this project so I thought I would share a pic of one of the pages.

In September, the kids moved into their new rooms. I had spent the summer painting and switching their rooms. We alos got new flooring, baseboards, doors, etc.


October

We had beautiful weather in October. It didn't feel like fall at all. This picture looks more like August but it is taken in October, outside at Twin Marine.

The boys both celebrated their birthdays in October as well.

November
We got a piano and this was a highlight for all of us. Here is Lauryn :

December

I haven't added many pictures of the twins in this post because they will get their own 'year in review' soon. I can't believe they will be 1 next Saturday.

Double Cute!

The twins love to sit at the piano & play the keys. It also made a good photo shoot.

We switched the girls from their infant seats to their new car seats.

Thank you Grandma & Grandpa for the car seats and to Uncle Derek & Pam for the cute snowsuits(little Piglet & Minnie)
In some ways it is a little more work going out with them but it is lighter not carrying them in their infant seats. I have no where to keep them "confined" now.

Christmas With The Klatt's

We had Christmas at Mom & Dad's on the 27th. We have it when it works for Derek & Pam to be around. Mom(Grandma) bought the kids these wonderful balloon blowers. You blow up the balloon then let the air out & they make a loud squeak sound, the kind of sound that should only be heard at Grandma & Grandpa's.LOL

Everyone went outside to go sledding down the hill right in my parents 'backyard'. I stayed inside with the twins & mopped Mom's floor.LOL

This year, us 8 adults decided not to pick names but we decided to do a chinese gift exchange. Many Tim Hortons products were exchanged this year.

Tim said that we should take the family photos around the table becasue all we do is eat.

I always love getting together with my family to play games.

We played WhoNu?, What's Yours Like?, and Horseopoly.

We had agreat Christmas together and I am already looking forward to the nest time we are all together. What will this year's exchange be?

Christmas Day

We headed over to Bryan's parents around noon for the rest of the day, opened gifts then had our turkey meal.

Christmas Morning

I still love Christmas morning just like I did as a child - well maybe not quite as excited. I do still like to wake up early on Christmas morning. This year I woke up and baked Cinnamon Bun Pull Aparts, maybe the beginning of a tradition.

Calleigh so excited about "BOOKS". She took awile opening all the gifts in her stocking because she really cherished each one & wanted to look them over before moving to the next gift:

Then we took a break to eat the Pull Aparts before going into the living room to open gifts from under the tree.

And one of the favorite gifts, a goalie helmet for the boys when they play hockey downstairs & outside. The wore this lots for the first few days, even while playing the piano.LOL

This year we spent the entire morning at home just allowing the kids to play with their toys & enjoy their gifts a bit. It it was nice to not be rushed before heading to Bryan's parents for the rest of the day. Although we were all hungry by the time turkey was served because they had all eaten a big brunch before we got there.

Christmas Eve

We spend every Christmas Eve at Bryan's Grandma Schreiner's, with the exception of last year when Grandma was staying with Bryan's parents after her heart surgery. It is our tradition to have cheese rolls for supper before opening gifts. Before the gifts are opened, the Christmas story is read. Here Micah is reading it:

Another "tradition" is that we give the kids a game as well as PJs on Christmas Eve. We gave them the "Game of Life" and we have played it many times since. Today we discovered it is just as fun, maybe more fun, playing without the money but using the Life cards.

Can you tell Calleigh was excited? She was thrilled by every gift she opened & so dramatic about it all.
