Micah's Birthday Party

Micah had a party with a few friends and they went Glo-Bowling.
The picture is not the greatest but you get the idea.
They had a blast. Simon also bowled with them & Calleigh just loved watching them.

(As you can see Micah is the shortest of them all)

Micah, Anson K, Edmund H, Camren S, Joel H
It was a bit crazy at times.

We went to our house & played some games. Here the boys are doing an NHL wordsearch. Then they enjoyed cake & snacks and talked crazy. (Micah sat & watched them.LOL)

Micah really wanted a hockey cake with the ice & players but that was unavailable so we opted for a logo of his favorite team. I asked all the boys who their favorite hockey team was. They all mentioned a Canadian team except one boy who (I won't mention the name) cheers for Detroit Red Wings, of all teams!! While they were all cheering for their own teams, Calleigh was in her highchair cheering, "Go BC Lions!!"

The boys ended with a few hockey games downstairs. First was a blindfold game & they had to shoot at the net & the next was to see who was the best goaltender.
All the boys were good sports.
They all went home with a goody bag with a pack of hockey cards(as seen on the table) and candy.(as well as a few other NHL activities)

Such a Good Mommy

Calleigh loves her dollies and babies. One day while I cleaned the playroom, she played with her dolls the whole time. She wrapped them up, rocked them, sang to them and cuddled with them. I said, 'oh you are such a good Mommy to your baby" and she replied, "Mommy, you have babies in your tummy, right?""

Calleigh likes to tell people that she is going to have twin babies at her house. Whter she really understands this or not, I am not sure. But she does understand that there will be 2 babies.

Thanksgiving in Nipawin

We had a snowy Thanksgiving. Simon asked if we could put up the Christmas tree. It didn't seem right to do that on Thanksgiving. It really did look like Christmas though.

Our trees are still green and have not lost many leaves. It is strange.

The snow has now melted but I looking forward for the snow again so I can decorate and get ready for Christmas. It is SO exciting to me. I have Christmas music playing & it just gives me energy and motivation. I love this time of year leading up to the holidays, all the sights & sounds of Christmas.

Are We Ready?

Are we ready for the twins to arrive?
No, but we are well stocked with diapers. We have 1600 size 1 diapers.

When we are asked when the babies are due & I tell people January, we get 2 responses. Some say, "oh, soon" and others say "you have a long time to wait yet". Well, I don't think it is too long. We have lots to do to get ready for them and this is a busy time of year. We have both boys birthdays this month then November is busy getting ready for Christmas (shopping, decorating, baking etc) then December goes by so fast as we celebrate the season and are busy with concerts and get togethers. Then it is January. January is the month that I feel like I can take a breath again & slow down a bit. With twins, it is hard to say, they may give me time to breath or they be ready to meet us all. Whether we are ready or not, the twins will arrive when they are ready.

Simon & Soccer

Simon is in his first year of soccer and he is really enjoying it. The first night they just played games/drills with the soccer ball and afterwards Simon said, "we didn't even play soccer". They all start off in a circle and talk about rules and such.

Simon spent a lot of time waving to us in the bleachers.

When Simon got dressed in his uniform at home, he laughed a bit because his shirt is so big(it goes past his knees) and then he put his shorts on and said, "these shorts are like one of those things that girls wear(meaning a skirt)" then he said, "everyone will laugh at me" but I assured him that all the kids will look the same.

Simon and his girlfriends, Marie and Beatrice & Calleigh too. People have commented that Calleigh looks like Beatrice and when I look at this picture, they could all pass for siblings.
Marie says that Simon is the only boy that she is inviting to her birthday party but Beatrice is going to marry Simon.LOL

Go BC Lions!!

Two years ago, Bryan went to Vancouver and he brought back a dress for Calleigh. At the time she was 4 months old and the dress is size 3 so the dress hung in the Lions Den for awhile.

But now she is finally able to wear it. She is saying, "Go BC"

Not the greatest picture but just wanted to show a whole body picture.

Pancake Morning

In Simon's kindergarten class this year, his teacher, Mr Lorenz, made pancakes & invited parents & children to come before school started.

Pics of the Babies

We had our 2nd ultrasound this past week. It was an hour long. It is like 2 separate ultrasounds. they figure out where the babies are lying & then do baby A then B. At our first u/s, the babies were both breech but they have both turned & are now vertex(head down-right where we want them). It alos took awhile to find a membrane between them. There is one placenta but they had thought there were 2 different sacs but this time they were unable to see the sac between them becasue the babies were moving around so much. They are quite active now & yet I don't feel a lot of the movement. During the u/s, baby B(right side) was doing all the moving yet I felt all the movement on my left side. It was very interesting.

Here is a glimpse of them.
Baby A:

Baby B:

They look the same to me. LOL It was nice to have the u/s to know that they are both doing well.

What Have We Been Up To?

I know that some of you are checking this blog for an update on the babies. I really don't have much to update. We are at 22 weeks right now according to the first ultrasound. I am going today for another ultrasound. I feel like I really haven't doctored much in this pregnancy. I heard the heartbeats for the first time last Tuesday. I haven't been to the specialist yet but will begin with her monthly starting on October 20th. i feel a little uneasy at times regarding this pregnancy and labor but I think it is all the fear of the unknown. I think I will feel better after talking with the specialist. After all the time we have spent at RUH (hospital in Saskatoon) lately, it makes me feel sick just thinking of delivering there.

Micah was to Saskatoon in September for his hip check up and everything is looking good. We knew this because he is very athletic & runs all the time with no problems.

Two weeks later we were back at RUH with not such good news. Bryan's Grandma S had gone for heart surgery which went well but then other problems arose. We were called in the middle of the night and were told that Grandma was not doing well. She spent 10 days in ICU and has now been moved to another ward. She is now doing better but it is a roller coaster of ups & downs. We have been the last 2 weekends and it is hard of the kids and myself. With this pregnancy, I feel tired all the time(complete exhaustion really) and often feel nauseated. The kids have a hard time understanding it all. It has been stressful on Simon, especially and he has not been acting himself because of it all. We ask you to continue to pray for Grandma as well as the entire family.

Student of the Month

We got a call the morning of assembly from Micah's teacher to let us know that he would be receiving the student of the month for his class. It brought me to tears and really blessed me just thinking about our quiet, reserved boy getting the first student of the month for the year.
(on wild hair day)

September was based on respect. His certificate says, "Micah is a quiet student who always gets his work done. He respects the classroom beliefs and is a very good role model!"

He is very humbled by this award and when asked about it, he is hesitant to tell about it.

Good job Micah. We are proud of our student of the month.

Nap Time

Lately I am tired most of the time so I try to lay down after lunch for awhile. Calleigh watches TV while I nap and usually falls asleep and often she comes & she lays right on top on me, usually more on my hip, not my head. But this day, Bryan came home with the boys and found us like this.

Oh so cozy!!

Back From Australia

Mom was chosen to go to the World's Martial Atrs competion in Sydney, Australia and at the last minute(the day before), Heidi decided to go along. They were gone for 10 days.

Mom came back with 2 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal

Harvest Time

I took the boys out to Clearwater's for a ride in the combine. (I took Calleigh too but she slept the whole time with me in the van)

The boys got to ride in the Jeep

They look forward to this every year. This year it was summer weather. Other years it has been cooler fall weather with colored leaves covering the ground.
