Simon's 7th Birthday

Simon loves Lego so that was his theme this year for his birthday party.

We played a few Lego games downstairs using 2 teams. One of them was to boild a tower in 2 minutes.

Calleigh was right in there building with the boys.

Micah missed out on a friend's birthday party so he could be at Simon's.

Simon is a very creative boy, loves to make crafts & build Lego. He is doing very well at piano. He enjoys sitting & playing through the whole book, working on lots of Christmas songs now.

Children's Festival

For Simon's class field trip, they headed to Tisdale's Children Festival. Bryan went along(as he always does)

Activity Day

Here we go again, one month behind. For some reason we have been emptying the camera at the end of the month & that is when I do the blogging. Sorry to those of you trying to keep up with us. June, as usual, flew by with all the end of the school year activities and fun. It is hard to believe that it is summer holidays now.

June 3rd was activity day at Simon's school. It was a rainy day. Calleigh joined the grade 1 class all around. She fits right in.

Simon & Calleigh at the petting zoo. Here is a baby miniture horse. It was born on May 26th, Calleigh's bday. The horse is only the size of a medium dog, so cute!!

At home Simon & Calleigh fit so much yet I love it how Simon watches out for her & is such a "big brother" out in public.

There were more activities but with the rain I didn't capture them all. I ended up going home for the twins' naptime and the school kid went inside & played bingo.

Bike Rodeo

Each year, CPES hosts a bike rodeo in conjunction with the town, police, etc.

Simon loves riding his bike but he rarely gets a chance to go biking.

Just Like Dad

The theme for March assembly was "Dress Like Mom or Dad". Simon wore one of Bryan's Andres shirts, an Andres hat(Bryan doesn't wear hats to work though) and carried a little mat under his arm(although Bryan doesn't do that part of the job much anymore). He looked pretty cute marching into assembly with his mat under his arm.

Soccer

The boys had their final night of indoor soccer on March 17th. It ended with a mini tournament. The boys played at the same time at different schools so I was only able to watch Simon while Bryan was with Micah.

Simon's team won "gold" if there was such a thing. They all got the same medals but his team won all their games.

Both boys really like soccer. Micah is much more into it & competitive. Simon is in it for the fun.

Show & Tell

Simon has show & tell every Friday and one week he chose to take the twins for show & tell.

Again he was so quiet(just like in K)

The teacher was surprised that he wouldn't talk or answer questions.

Football Game

Bryan takes in one football game in Regina every year, of course when BC Lions come to town. Micah has also been going for a few years and this was Simon's first year.

Simon said that there was so much fun stuff that he can't even tell it all but only one bad thing is that the Riders won.

They always go early for warm up & are able to shake the players hands.

It's Concert Time

Simon is in the family room. You'll notcie behind him is their bunkbeds. They are "camping out" in there while I get their rooms switched around. I hope to have them in their new room before school starts. Calleigh is in hers now.

It is concert time at our house. Simon is working the "product table & Micah is singing.

Our kids fight a lot and I often think it is because they are bored and there is nothing better to do. I have talked to other Moms & they say that their kids are the same way so I happy that our kids are "normal". Once in awhile the kids get along & play together like they did on this day.

School's Out

The boys both had a great year.

It is hard to believe that Simon is done kindergarten and is headed to grade one. I will really miss him not being at home every other day. He is a big help to me & likes to have "talks" with me. He is looking forward to reading in grade one.

Micah has completed his time at CPES. (sniff, sniff) I remember the first day of kindergarten & at that time I thought about him completing grade 3 and having to switch schools. That time went by so fast & now he is heading to grade 4 in a different school. It will be a new adventure & I think he will enjoy the intramural program they have over there.

Both boys had male teachers this year & they have both have female teachers next year

Klemmer Park Field Trip

This year the kindergarten class spent a day at Klemmer Park. Usually they go swimming at the end of the year but not this year. They had a fun day at the park & beautiful weather for it.

The kids were slpit into 3 groups - a nature hike with Mr Lorenz, soccer & butterfly/bug catching with Bryan and play at the playground. I started on the hike but they were walking too fast for me to keep up plus the stroller wouldn't have made it all the way & I was told that the bugs were terrible in there. The girls all did well at the park. The twins were just out of the stroller for a bit of a break, diaper change & a bottle.

Just moments before we left the park, I asked Simon what was wrong & he said that the tire swing made his stomach hurt. (this pic was taken when I was asking him)

Well, he didn't make it all the way back to the school & he threw up in the bus. He didn't say a word, just had his head resting on the seat in front of him. Not sure what he would have done if Bryan wasn't along with him.

Activity Day

I have mentioned in previous posts that it has been raining alot. The day before activity day, it rained all day so we thought it would be held inside. I thought it would be too muddy even if the rain stopped but we were outdoors except for the family picnic which was in the gym.
