Church Christmas Program

Before the program:

Simon, our little shepherd

Calleigh with baby "Holly"
Calleigh was supposed to be an angel but wanted no part of going on stage at the practices so we decided it was better for her to just watch the boys.

The boys did the opening welcome

"We're glad you came to join us
For our Christmas play tonight
May you feel God's love
Wrapped in the gift so bright.

To celebrate this season
We sing 'Jingle All Way'
but tonight we share the real reason
In our Christmas play,

Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Micah was Mr. Mouse, the main character.

Simon, the little shepherd with Pastor as a shepherd.

In the play, Mr Mouse learns about the real reason for Christmas,
Jesus!!
Micah & I then sang, "C is for the Christ Child" before Pastor gave a short message.

Klatt Christmas

We had Christmas with my side of the family last weekend, December 5th. We don't usually have it this early but Derek & pam came up from Estevan so we all celebrated toegther then. We have always had Christmas at Mom & Dad's but this year Heidi hosted in their new home. (the wall behind with the "Family" plaque on it was mudded, sanded & painted all that day before we arrived - it originally had a door there)

This was not a planned/posed picture.
Bryan was sitting on the couch & all the kids gathered round.
I didn't get any pictures of our meal together. Then we opened gifts. Katelynn reminded me so much of us when we were younger. "Is it time to open presents yet?" "When can we open presents?" etc. It was so hard to wait as a child.
Dad read the Christmas story before we opened gifts.

Calleigh was so surprised that there was a present for her. She said, "For me? a present for me?" She was amazed. She got this Little Mommy set from Grandma & Grandpa. She loves it, she carries the doll around with her wherever she goes. Calleigh really is a little Mommy, she likes to change the doll's diaper & feed her. She will be a good big sister.

Jaken got this Tonka truck and enjoyed rides in there.

We had Heidi & Tim's names and gave them this frame/rack along with a gift card. The frame says, "Treat your family like friends and your friends like family"

(in the above picture you can see hwere they added patio doors to replace the original door, that was to the left)
The girls each got these hats and bows, flowers, etc that attach to them, from Uncle Derek & Pam.

Simon figured that since the girls had their pictures taken together then all the boys that got hockey sticks should also have a picture together.

The Marble "game" from Uncle Derek & Pam. It is tricky to get it all set up but the kids all loved it. And Simon's Hungry Hippo game.

This day was crazy enough, I don't know how we did it at Heiberg Christmases with 13 grandchildren in Grandma & Grandpa's little house.

30 Weeks

These ultrasound pictures were taken on December 2nd at 30 weeks. If you can't tell, they are the babies faces.

Baby A is proper position for delivery and they say that is all that matters. So it okay that baby B,on my right side, keeps changing positions from breech to vertex to breech to tranverse. That baby is breech most of the time.
They are both growing at a proper rate and doing well. I am feeling pretty good with the exception of my aching hips, lower back and legs. I am so thankful that I am feeling this good and really cannot complain, I am getting very close to the end or the beginning, however you want to look at it. The end of pregnancy and the beginning of our adventure as a family of 7. (doesn't that sound crazy?)

I saw the specialist last week and she said that it can be anytime now but we are hoping the babies wait until after Christmas. We all know that babies come when they are ready. I told the Dr that I will be really surprised if I go into labor because I have never gone into labor on my own before. She said that it can be different with twins. We'll see.....

All Day Blogging

I have spent the day blogging and I think I am caught up now. Sorry to those of you who check in with us regularily via the blog. I know that it can be annoying to see the same post time after time of checking in.

I am trying to update my other blog more regularily as well so please take time to visit it here.

Happy Birthday Simon

Simon had a busy day on his birthday. He had school with a costume parade & party in the afternoon. We tried to sqeeze in supper, presents & a cake of sorts before heading to soccer for 6pm. At soccer, Simon said, "I am running out of power"
(no wonder, that is a busy day for a 5 year old)

Simon really doesn't care for cake, at least not with icing so I thought about something that would be special just for him. He likes choc chip cookies so I made a giant cookie into a cake but would he eat it? No way. he said that he wouldn't like it because it is a cake & not a cookie.

Simon has been wanting ear muffs so Brayn bought him Montreal Canadiens ear muffs. He was so excited. We also gave him this picture.
Simon was just so excited about his birthday this year. So different from Micah who is always just, "whatever". Simon got to school & said to mr Lorenz, "I'm 5, I'm 5, it's my birthday today!!" and then was elated to go out for lunch with Bryan.

On the 31st, we took supper over to Bryan's parents since his Grandma is there and couldn't get out. We had a little party there. Simon got a Lightning McQueen computer along with a few others gifts from Auntie Melinda & Auntie Carmen and family.

Simon's Party

Simon had a little party with a few friends on the 31st.
(it was much more calm than with a bunch of 7 & 8 year olds)

We started upstairs with watching "Cars" until everyone arrived then we played musical chairs using the DVD music. I totally forgot to take any pictures of the games upstairs. Duh!
Then they played "Pin the 95 on Lightning McQueen"
before heading downstairs for a couple of games.

They played "Lightning Lightning McQueen"(like Duck Duck Goose). This was surprisingly difficult for the kids. They didn't know where to run or what to do.
Then I divided them into teams & they each had a box of 'Cars' megablocks & it was a race to see which team could build it the fastest.
Then 'Hot Potato' with Lightning McQueen.
We also used Lightning for spin the bottle game for opening presents.

Beatrice, Marie, Simon, Ryder, Ritchy, Cameron and Micah
I am not a cake decorater. I do not enjoy decorating cakes at all but the cake tasted good.

Simon received lots of nice gifts, mostly craft supplies and lego.
Thank you!!

Halloween

On Simon's 5th birthday(29th), he had a party day for Halloween. We took birthday cupcakes to the class & joined them for their parade through the classrooms.

Simon, the lion and our little piglet, Calleigh.

Then the next day, the 30th, the rest of the school had their costume parade. We took Pumpkin Cream Cream Sugar Cookies for Micah's class & stayed for the assembly and parade.
Micah, the robot:

Our little horsey just had enough so she fell asleep while waiting for Micah after school.

Then the next day, the 31st, we had Simon's birthday party then walked down the street towards Bryan's parents. It began to snow about 30 minutes before we went out.

Pumpkin Carving

Bryan cuts the top off and lets the kids take out the guts of the pumpkin. Micah did most of it. His expression looks like he is not enjoying it but he didn't complain at all about it. Simon would have no part of it but was happy to smile for the camera.

Calleigh was happy to dig in & help.

After they got the guts out then Bryan carved it for them.

Tater Night

The boys are both part of the Awana Clubs. Micah is in Truth & Training & Simon is in Sparks. This is a great program. I attended it as a child and so happy that our children have the opportunity to do the same. I still remember a lot of what I learned there.
Every once in awhile they have a theme night & one of them is 'Tater Night'.
So the boys dressed up their potatoes for the occasion.

Football Game 09

Micah & Bryan attended a game in Regina back in October.
Micah & Wally Buono.
(the coach of BC Lions for those of you who don't know)

Warm Up

Micah with Casey Printers after the game. Bryan bought him this ball & had it signed by the players.

Our Weekend Away

Two weekends ago we went to Lang for the weekend. Bryan & Micah were planning to go to Regina to the football game so we decided to make a weekend out of it. I didn't know when we would be able to go down there again.
Granmda with her "puppy". Yes, our children are scared of this puppy as well. Although last time, they freaked out & this time they asked for it. My Grandma Heiberg has birds and she let Evod, her dove, out of the cage. This was when Bryan & Micah were gone with the camera so I didn't get a picture. Simon & Calleigh weren't too sure about petting Evod.

Grandma & Grandpa West came from Ogema for supper & the evening. We usually try to make it Ogema as well but it is just too much to fit into a weekend so they came to Lang for a visit. We appreciated that.

Grandma gave mittens to the kids. Calleigh loved them so much that she wore them while playing. I wanted to get a picture of them on the stairs because that is something we used to always do as children but with all us grandchildren. It would have been 13 at the time.
Most of you know that our kids are terrified of animals. Micah has grown out of that and is fine. He still prefers not to pet them but that is fine. I am the same. Simon is still so scared of any dog. He freaked out when he saw Maya(not sure how you spell it) & spent some time on the back of the couch then moved to a dining room chair & stood on that, even with Maya on a leash. Calleigh wasn't too sure at first but then started talking to Maya saying, "whatcha doing Maya?" By the end of the evening, Calleigh was walking Maya around the house on a leash, to the point where Maya was wanting someone to rescue her. then when Maya layed down, Calleigh said, "Oh don't be shy Maya, you can come out, it's okay"

Aunt Roberta with Simon & Calleigh.
We had such a great time there. It was a nice relaxing weekend for me. I enjoyed it so much. It was good just to enjoy time with family and not have to think of all that I needed to do at home.

Party for the Boys

In our Klatt side of the family, all 3 boys have their birthdays within 10 days and all the girls have their bithdays in the spring within 3 weeks. The twins will be the exception now.

This is the "Tumble" (marble) game that I was referring to, Jen. This was the year for games. The boys received this one as well as Candyland, Battleship, Apples to Apples, and Math Bingo.

The 3 boys with the cake from Grandpa & Grandma. Notice the green side for the Riders & orange for BC. I think BC won that one.

All the grandchildren.

Jaken wasn't sure what to think about the cake. He looked at us like,
'what do you want me to do with this?'
