Calleigh's First Year

Sunday, May 25, 2008

Thank you to Auntie Melinda for the sweet summer dress. Unfortunately it's not summer weather so Calleigh wore tights & a t-shirt with her dress.

Park

Calleigh loves to swing. I tried 3x to take her out & no way.

"Ambliance"

There was a Teddy Bear Clinic at the Ambulance. Terry the Trauma-saurus was there to greet the kids.

The kids were told to bring a teddy along. They asked the kids what was wrong with their teddy. The EMT's checked the teddy over & bandaged them up. Here Anson is telling about his bear that ate too much & had a sore tummy. Simon's teddy fell down & hurt his ear.
They received a DQ sandwich or dilly bar & a coloring book.
Simon has been asking every day now if we can go to the "ambliance" place.

And away she goes....

........up the stairs. Calleigh figured out how to climb the stairs this week and she is quick. You turn around & she is up at the top.

Once she gets to the top then she's not sure what to do. She is proud of herself though.

Spring is finally here or was here. It is really chilly today. It went from shorts weather yesterday to turtleneck sweaters today.

Our tulips in front of the house are in bloom.

More & More Pictures

I am one that only reads blog posts with pictures so I hope you don't mind me posting lots of pictures.

Calleigh sitting on the steps of the deck. The sweater she is wearing was made by Grandma Heiberg for Micah when he was born. I don't think he ever wore it but Calleigh does.

The boys like to look out the front window & Calleigh is no different. She is just tall enough now to see out on her own.

We were just sitting at the table having a snack & Simon said "Mom, make a bible with your hands like this. God has the whole world in His hands."
I asked, "where did you learn that?"
"No where. He is holding us every day. he is holding h-uncle & h-auntie & Mommy & Daddy & me & everyone"
Then yesterday, Simon said, "hey, you got blue pants & I got blue pants. That's cause we were drinking blue juice for supper, right, Mom?"
Sometimes I just marvel at the things that come out of children's mouths.

Inside Campout

This is my kind of camping - indoors. Uncle Andrew came for a sleepover with the boys. they had so much fun playing before bed.
Calleigh had loads of fun. She is playing so much now & was just being crazy, in & out of the tent.
We blew up the Elmo bed but no one slept in it anyway except 'pretend sleeping' as seen here.
Thanks "H-uncle" for staying over.

First Birthday Party

My Girly Girl???

This girly loves it outside. I found this Old Navy hat at a garage sale and she actually kept it on(2 days previous, she got a sunburn on her head). Calleigh learned to crawl up the stairs on the deck & was so happy to be outside playing. She had stickies(from poplar trees) in her hands & on her legs, dirt on her mouth from trying to drink out of the watering can, but she was happy as could be. We are going to have lots of fun outside this year.

Brothers Forever

Micah brings books home from school every night to read to us. While he was reading, Simon said, "You're my best friend, Micah, so that's why I has to put my arm around you".

Don't let this fool you. They are brothers & they fight like brothers.

Mmmm

Calleigh only likes finger food. She doesn't like to be fed. If I feed her, she spits it out so we just put the food on her tray & let her feed herself. This day, she had fun with her supper. She put it all through her hair. We do put a bib on her but it doesn't last long. She is so proud of herself here.

Mother's Day

These aren't great pictures but they are pictures, nonetheless. We had a nice Mother's Day with just our little family. We were planning to do a little picnic at the park but it was raining when we came out of church.

So what better day to relax in my new chair????
Hope you had a happy mother's day too.

Garage Sale

We had a garage sale on the weekend. It was so cold on Friday. The kids sat and sold pop, coffee, cookies, and rice krispie squares. These were hot sellers. Tina had to go home and bake more and I kept wrapping more of what I had then Tina & I both baked more on Friday night for Saturday and we sold ALL of them. The kids made $60 and had so much fun doing it. It was a really good weekend. The kids were together for many hours and they played so well together. Saturday turned out to be a really nice day. We had a bbq with all those involved in the garage sale which was 4 different families(8 kids, 8 adults). It was a nice time together. We'll add this to our yearly garage sale tradition.

First Swing at the Park

It is finally nice enough to go to the park. It has been a long winter but I think spring is finally here.

Watch her feet. She was "running" the whole time in the swing.

Sunday School Class

We have sunday school in the evening so we try to get the boys to nap in the afternoon. But last Sunday, Simon was having so much fun away from home(without us) that he didn't nap. He spent the entire sunday school class sleeping & slept on the way home. When we got home he cried because he missed sunday school. Simon loves his teacher, Mrs. McBain. The week before, in morning service, he snuggled up beside her & fell asleep.

Calleigh loves anything with music & she really likes to watch the Wiggles. She was sitting 2 ft away from the tv, up on her knees & clapping her hands. By the time I got the camera, she was standing up to the tv. (you have to turn up the sound to hear the tv)
