Little Jaken

Seven years ago today, I was leaving the hospital with our first baby, Micah James. Today, seven years later, my sister, Heidi sits in that same hospital with her little(& I mean little) boy.

Heidi had a difficult pregnancy this time. Her blood pressure was very high & was diagnosed with preclampsia(google it to learn more). With this it can be harmful to the mother so they like to deliver the baby early. Heidi was induced on Sunday & again on Monday. Her water broke at 11:15pm on Monday. Heidi wanted to call Tim but the nurses said, "Oh it'll be awhile yet" (Tim has a 1 hour drive to get there) But Heidi called Tim anyway. By the time Dad got there to stay with the girls, Heidi had already called to say that they had a baby boy. Little Jaken was born at 11:30 pm with no Tim & no Dr there.

Jaken has to stay in the nursery for now. No one else can hold him or see him but Dad & Mom were able to get these pics last night. Heidi is just sitting in the doorway of the nursery.

He looks a little like Jada here, I think. Micah said he kew that they were going to have a boy because they already have 3 girls in their family. I would just love to go & see him but we will wait until we can actually hold him.
