Christmas Concert

Tonight was our concert at Church. Here the boys are reciting a poem called "The Candy Cane". They both did really. I didn't think Simon would say it but he did right along with the kids who are 3 years older than him.

"The Candy Cane"
A candy maker long ago, he made a Christmas treat to show
The love that Jesus brought mankind so in a candy cane you'll find
A shape that forms the letter "J" for Jesus born on Christmas Day
When turned the staff is then displayed that he might gather lambs who've strayed
The candy cane when held in hand is hard as on the rock we stand
Its whiteness there for all to see gives praise for Jesus' purity
The thin red stripe is for the pain He suffered on the cross when slain
The single stripe that's bold & red, it signifies the blood He shed
A candy maker made this treat at Christmastime so all may greet
The Saviour and His wondrous birth and spread the news through all the earth.

Micah was Joseph and Simon was a shepherd. My shy little Simon was far from shy. When he was walking up the aisle he said, "Hi Mom" quite loud. I was sitting with the choir at the front, left side. While he was up on stage he was good but every once in awhile had something to say, "Hi Papa, look what I have" At the end of the program I left my seat in the choir to check on Calleigh. The kids all stayed on stage while Pastor gave his message. Simon called to the back of the church, "Hey, Mom, you pose ta sit over dere" as he pointed to the choir. He amazed me really since he is normally quite shy.

The pictures aren't great but they are better than nothing.
